Voices from death row

Day 7 and the last day of the “black and white” challenge.

During the research for this art serie I interviewed more than 30 death row prisoners around the world. I got a lot of responses. Many different sentences from a lot of different human beings.

Some phrases, questions and sayings burned into my mind as much … I did not had to note them in my sketch book. They just stayed in the focus of my mind until I transformed them into the art installation “Voices From Death Row”.

… Imagine you did not even commit a crime. The DNA evidence does not match you. Yet … you get senteced to death and end up in isolation – waiting for your execution.

More than 160 people are the witnesses to innocence in the USA because they had been sentenced to death for crimes there had nothing to do with.

Have a beautiful day and enjoy your freedom!
